Miami Beach Guest Program
The Miami Beach Guest Program is comprised of the new Miami Beach Visitors Center at the Miami Beach Convention Center (Hall C), MiamiBeachGuest.com, and the Miami Beach IN Card. The Center currently responds to over thousands of inquiries each year regarding vacation planning, tours, complaint resolution and much more. The Center works closely with the City of Miami Beach, the GMCVB, and other tourist related entities to ensure that their resources on promoting the destination are coordinated and maximized. Services currently offered by the Center and through MiamiBeachGuest.com include over 25 daily tours, guided bus yours, and Segway tours. Additional tours include Art Deco walking tours, “From SoBe to HoBe” or “The Big Square”, featuring south, mid and north beaches, creating and organizing customized group/convention tours, providing over 100 brochures, maps, guides, newspaper, and travel related publications, assisting in public transportation information, assisting new Miami Beach residents, and mailing of tourist and relocation packages throughout the world.
Miami Beach Watersports Center
The Center kicks off each season in October with a major rowing race, the largest major rowing race of its kind in Florida. Other activities include winter & spring camp and regattas, summer camps, and various programs for youth and adults. The Center is recognized as a national and international training facility.
The Customer and You – Certificate Program in Service
This program will provide its participants with the opportunity to participate in a 4-hour program to gain skills needed in customer service. The program will be offered free of charge and will also provide potential Miami Beach employers with employees who have already obtained the skills needed to improve their customer service. The program is a result of a partnership with Florida International University who will be providing the instructor for the course as well as all of the course materials. A total of 16 half day training sessions will be offered on a monthly basis with approximately 25 participants per training with four extra sessions in the fall; for a total of 400 participants. Approximately 5-6 of the training sessions will be held at the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Tourist Hospitality Center @ Lincoln Road
The purpose of the Tourist Hospitality Center is to provide direct visitor assistance. A wide range of visitor information and assistance is offered. The Center’s revamped website will be an effective online marketing tool that will attract visitors to Miami Beach. The Center, in its sixteenth year of operations, continues to address thousands of tourist inquiries while showcasing Miami Beach’s highest ranking attractions and promoting hotels, restaurants other available services.

Sleepless Night Miami Beach
- This event, taking place from sundown on November 5 through sunrise on November 6, 2011, is a result of a collaboration of all of the City’s major cultural institutions, theaters, galleries, and arts organizations. Events will include 300 participating artists featured in 150 performances, exhibitions, and installations at 80 locations citywide. Free shuttle buses will be available with onboard programming, connecting all 4 zones of activity. Through the partnership with Comcast, there will be an opportunity to appear on CNN Headline News Show: “Newsmakers” that will include promotional on-air mentions of the event.
Pan American Internationals
- This 2-day event, taking place November 11 - 12, 2011 at the Deauville Beach Resort, is one of the largest and most prestigious sport martial arts events in the world today. The event was established in 1980 and has become one of the best sport karate tournaments in the world, attracting competitors from around the world. Competitions will take place in 3 different ballrooms within the host hotel with several match rings set up within each ballroom.
NASCAR Championship Drive
- The NASCAR Championship Drive, taking place November 17 - 18, 2011, is a fan-friendly program of events for fans to celebrate the end of the NASCAR season. Events will include the grand arrival of the NASCAR hauler parade en route to Homestead-Miami Speedway, a NASCAR fan festival, a championship drive featuring a NASCAR Auto Manufacturer Display, the NASCAR press conference, NASCAR concert (recording artist TBD), NASCAR youthfest, and a party lounge.
27th Anniversary of White Party Week-Muscle Beach
- White Party Week, celebrating its 27th anniversary November 23 - 28, 2011, features cultural and musical events that attract between 10,000 and 15,000 attendees from around the world each year. Muscle Beach party, taking place November 27, 2011, is a dance-barefoot-in-the-sand party that takes place during the week of these prestigious events. A total of 14 events are expected to take place and are expected include a kick-off shopping event, Dolce, White Journey, White Friday Shopping, Cirque Blanc, White Party, White Dawn, Heatwave Pool Party, Bang, White Starz, Get Lucky Tea Dance, White Horizons, and Swan Song.
Miami Beach International Bridal Week
- This 2-day event, taking place November 26 - 27, 2011, is expected to bring bridal and men’s formal wear designers from around the globe, luxury wedding services, and certified wedding professionals together to provide a comprehensive and sophisticated wedding showcase to affluent brides and grooms looking to make Miami/Miami Beach their destination wedding site. Events are expected to include a consumer trade show, fashion shows, educational seminars, interactive ballroom and Latin dancing, performances by a variety of love musicians and activities, and will feature a Jewish Wedding Pavilion, Indian/South Asian Wedding Pavilion, and Commitment Ceremony Pavilion. GLITZ TV will produce and broadcast a television special featuring the designers, models, and vendors, generating over 60 million in viewership.

Art Basel Miami Beach 2011
- The tenth edition of this 5-day international art fair, taking place December 1 - 4, 2011, will include events such as a main art show, Art Nova, Art Positions, Art Basel Conversations, “Garden Café”, Art Projects, Welcome Reception, Farewell Event, Art Film, Museum Openings, and collector’s tours to private collections and exhibitions. This event anticipates creating not only a platform for sales of contemporary and modern art, but to also reach out to other cultural and entertainment fields such as architecture, design, music, film, etc. With its exciting mix of high quality cutting edge artwork and a staggering list of cultural events, this art show has become the winter meeting place for local, national and international visitors: art lovers, curators, collectors, journalists and the public.
2011-2012 Orange Bowl Football Game and Ancillary Events
This year’s Discover Orange Bowl game will be played on Wednesday, January 4th at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami–Dade County and will be televised on ESPN and broadcast through ESPN Radio and XM Satellite Radio. Events surrounding the games are taking place December 29, 2011 through January 5, 2012 are expected to include team airport arrivals, team welcome receptions, coaches’ outings (breakfasts, lunches, dinners), a pre-game party, beach parties, a Miami Beach Music Festival, Orange Bowl Paddle Championships, Game Day Fan Zone, Bacardi Orange Bowl Rhapsody and the Discover Orange Bowl.
Orange Drive Miami Beach Music Festival – Orange Drive LLC
The Orange Drive Miami Beach Music Festival is a three-day world class event, taking place December 30, 2011 - January 1, 2012, that brings together internationally recognized music artists, sponsored activations and a village opened to the public. Taking place on Ocean Drive between 7th and 9th Streets Orange Drive is set to welcome over 100,000 visitors. A state of the art amphitheater will be constructed on the sand which can hold up to 30,000 people each night. Artists set to perform include Jennifer Lopez, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Pete Wentz and the Black Cards, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes, Boyz II Men, DJ Irie, Samantha Ronson, and Jermaine Dupri. The event will be broadcast via HDNET to 25 million viewers worldwide.

NATPE 2012-Content First
- NATPE is the only US-based transactional content marketplace where content is developed, showcased, sold, acquired, and monetizes. The 3-day market and conference, taking place January 23 - 25, 2012, is a key media event. The events includes a traditional tradeshow floor with booth space for exhibition, exhibit suites, meeting room, sessions, parties and award presentations.
ING Miami Marathon and Half Marathon and Tropical 5K
On the 10th anniversary of the ING Miami Marathon and Half Marathon and Tropical 5k, a full marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles) and Tropical 5K (3.1 miles) are taking place on the streets of Miami and Miami Beach, January 27 - 29, 2012. Events are also expected to include a press conference, health and fitness expo, a pre-race party on Miami Beach and a VIP dinner at the Setai. A one hour recorded highlight/recap show of the event will air on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) to approximately 18 million viewers across 13 states through Xfinity On Demand.

Tr3s presents Juanes MTV Unplugged
Juanes and MTV come together to bring you an MTV Unplugged event that takes this Colombian singer/songwriter back to his roots while exploding within today’s digital cloud. MTV Networks’ signature acoustic format will fuse his raw sound with the most advanced digital music technology available, reaching beyond the studio audience that gives his “puro pueblo” sound to his fan base across the globe, on February 1, 2012. As the first MTV production ever taped at the New World Center in Miami Beach, this MTV Unplugged aims to be the first one ever "open" to the public audience through the New World's unique 7,000 square foot projection screen outside the venue, allowing spectators in Miami Beach’s Soundscape public park to enjoy the live concert within the venue.
Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail
This 5 day event, in its 71th year and taking place February 16 - 20, 2012, will occupy 2.5 million square feet of exhibit space and will attract approximately 105,000 people to the destination. It is the primary boat and accessory sales event in the world. In addition to the exhibiting of over 2,000 companies and 3,000 boats, events are expected to include over 50 seminars and presentations on a variety of industry- related topics.
Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival
The 4-day Festival, taking place February 23 - 26, 2012, will showcase celebrities and top names in the culinary, wine and spirits industries. Televised programming specials on national TB via the Food Network will reach an estimated 100 million households, and the Festival's marketing plan over 6 months will generate at least 1.7 billion impressions. The Festival showcases Miami Beach as a first class destination which offers a wealth of culture, arts, beaches, and nightlife.
7th Annual South Beach Comedy Festival
The 7th Annual South Beach Comedy Festival, taking place February 29 - March 4, 2012, returns with an all new celebrity line-up of comedy produced by the world’s largest promoter of live performance events, Live Nation. This Comedy Extravaganza features the top names in stand-up comedy and will take place in Miami Beach’s most exciting live performance venues including a FREE stage on iconic Lincoln Road hosted by Comedy Central. Comedy Central, cable television’s only all-comedy network currently seen in more than 99 million homes, will be filming the events to air on television specials that will highlight Miami Beach. The total impressions for the 7th Annual South Beach Comedy Festival are anticipated to again reach over 1 billion worldwide. Talent has not been confirmed.
Winter Party Festival
This event, taking place February 29 - March 5, 2012, is a five day celebration of social and cultural events targeted at the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) community. A total of 20 events are expected to include a welcome reception, beach party, women’s’ events, pool party, in-store events on Lincoln Road, and several events at area nightclubs. The festival is expected to draw attendees from around the US, as well as, Canada, Europe, South American, and Australia.

13.1 Marathon Miami Beach
This event, taking place March 4, 2012, is a half marathon consisting of 13.1 miles, of which 100% of the route will take participants through Miami Beach. The marathon will be one of eight races taking place throughout the country to include Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Minneapolis, Dallas, and Boston. This race is the first of its kind encouraging its participants to travel to the other cities that make up the nine race series. Other events will include a 5K and a Michelob Ultra Beer Garden as part of the post-race. The event is expected to be broadcast through Comcast Sports.
Miami International Film Festival 2012
This festival, in its 29th year and taking place March 2 - 11, 2012, brings the best of world cinema to South Florida. The event is expected to feature a program which will include over 160 public film screenings of over 100 films from 40 countries, and events to an audience over 70,000 while promoting Miami Beach as a place do to film business through its Industry. Other events include filmmaker and film society “Meet and Greet”, celebrity events, Meet the Talent Sessions and VIP receptions.
Miami Beach International Fashion Week
This event, in its 14th year and taking place March 21 - 24, 2012, is the largest international and Latin American fashion event in the United States. Over 650 international press and over 50 of the world’s top and emerging fashion designers will be participating in nightly runway fashion shows and a jewelry and accessories exhibition. Other events will include fashion shows, educational seminars, and afterglow. The event will be televised on Glitz TV Latin America, generating over 60 million in viewership.
Winter Music Conference, 27th Annual
This event, in its 27th year and taking place March 16 - 25, 2012, was established in 1985 as a forum for the advancement of the music industry. It is now one of the most acclaimed music industry gatherings in the US. The event attracts the world’s most lauded and innovative artists, DJs, accredited journalists, and nearly 100,000 attendees to participate in over 260 events to include seminars, panels, workshops and performance events in 89 venues on Miami beach, over the 11-day event.
Nautica South Beach Triathlon
This event, in its fifth year in Miami Beach and taking place March 30 - April 1, 2012, the 2012 Nautica South Beach Triathlon is a premier event in the sport of triathlon which will span three days, March 30th through April 1st, culminating in a Classic Distance and an International Distance race on Sunday. With world-wide recognition, the event draws professional and amateur athletes as well as prominent celebrities from 44 difference states and 17 difference countries to the region to compete. In addition to the triathlon and Olympic distance race, events will also include a fitness expo, welcome party, sponsor and local vendor booths, free fitness clinics, a donor brunch, Kids Fun Zone, a Nautica Kids Run and Tot Trot, and an awards ceremony. The event is expected to be televised nationally on Fox Sports Network through a 30 minute show, reaching a minimum of 50 million homes; however, the contract is still under negotiation.
WrestleMania AXXESS
WrestleMania Axxess, taking place March 29 - April 1, 2012, is an interactive, family-friendly event designed to provide dynamic and exciting experience for both casual and traditional fans. The event will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center over a four day period. WrestleMania Axxess is one of the ancillary events that takes place during the week prior to WWE’s premier annual event, WrestleMania XXVIII.

VII Sicilian Film Festival
- The Sicilian Film Festival (SFF) is the American display of Sicilian cinematography. It is an annual event , taking place April 11 - 17, 2012, that has been taking place in the City of Miami Beach for 6 years. The SFF brings the Sicilian culture to the forefront and shares the beauty and life of Sicily with residents and visitors of Miami Beach. The festival typically presents 5 feature movies, 3 to 4 TV movies, 5 Retrospectives, 5 to 10 Documentaries, and 10 to 20 short films in a period of 7 days. A 30 minute documentary will be broadcast on Teleoccidente Television to over 2.5 million people in Sicily and throughout Europe.
This event in its fourth year is a collaboration of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) community that will create community oriented activities geared toward this niche group. Events, taking place April 15, 2012, will include a parade/festival down Ocean Drive featuring their legacy couples and families, a performance stage and t-dance area for entertainment and dancing, a beach party, a pool party at The Surfcomber Hotel and special entertainment and surprises.
Sustainatopia 2012, taking place April 19 - 25, 2012, is both a festival + conference. Over 40 specific events take place during 7 days: film, art, music, eco-fashion, food, design, author series, parties + conferences. The primarily focus is on creating a better world + promoting/celebrating sustainability for corporations, organizations and individuals.
14th Annual Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
- The 14th Annual Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (MGLFF), taking place April 26 - May 6, 2012, will feature up to 70 full length feature and short films, and audience Q&A sessions with visiting filmmakers, artists, and industry guests. The 2012 installation will continue with a program entitled “Made in Miami” featuring local queer filmmakers along with the introduction of “Saving Our Stories” (S.O.S.) in which the MGLFF will actively engage in creating documentary short films highlighting our own local LGBT community. The MGLFF will be featured on Comcast Newsmaker generating 1,170,000 in confirmed viewership. A continuous Weather Channel crawl will also air throughout the month of April 2012.
The Miami Beach Polo World Cup VIII
Over a period of five days, April 26 - 29, 2012, the Miami Beach Polo World Cup will bring 6 international teams from around the world to compete for ‘La Martina Trophy’ in this international polo tournament that will attract worldwide media. In addition, 8 international women’s teams will travel to Miami Beach for the South Beach Women’s Polo Cup IV. Other events are expected to include a welcome dinner and party, a fashion show, press conference, award ceremony, dinner/cocktail parties, a farewell party, and a horse parade on the beach.
Aqua Girl is a 5-day event taking place May 4 - 6, 2012 promoting the strength, health, quality, and visibility of lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women. A total of thirteen cultural events are expected to take place which will include a VIP event, bowlathon, fashion show, dance parties, a comedy show, and pool party, dine around event, tea dance, and a closing dance party.
- Beach Soccer Worldwide Miami Cup 2012
Beach soccer is a dynamic version of Soccer, the world’s most popular and powerful sport. The Miami Cup 2012, taking place May 4 - 6, 2012, with 4 to 6 national teams from US, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and others attract not only a huge supporter base that travel to watch the players but also large traveling entourage of family, friends, sponsors, celebrities, VIP’s, TV Crews and event staff. The 2012 Beach Soccer Worldwide Miami Cup will take a 360 degree approach to marketing this event, entering into promotional agreements with all major TV networks covering the event (FOX, FOX Deportes, TV Globo, Al Jazeera Sport Channel, Eurosport, ESPN Star Asia, and Supersport).
16th Brazilian Film Festival of Miami
- The Brazilian Film Festival of Miami, now in its 16th year, has accompanied the resurgence of Brazilian Cinema. Brazil’s Ministry of Culture and the Audiovisual Secretariat recognizes the Brazilian Film Festival of Miami as a Festival that promotes market, business opportunities and cultural exchange between the US and Brazil. This emphasizes the Festival’s main objectives of providing strong platform for the commercialization, distribution and exhibition of Brazilian film within the United States and creating a successful channel to enhance cultural awareness in the US. The Festival, taking place August 17 - 25, 2012, will present approximately 40 films during the 9-day event. Other events will include an opening night, a marketplace with seminars, and a closing award ceremony.
XVII International Ballet Festival of Miami
- The 17th edition of the International Ballet Festival of Miami (IBFM), taking place August 31 - September 23, 2012, will provide a unique opportunity for audiences to see some of the world’s leading ballet companies represented by their great stars. The festival also provides a platform to present dancers and companies whose styles are as diverse as the City of Miami Beach, alongside a unique collection of the works of local artists, all in the grand celebration of dance. Events will include a dance film series, contemporary ballet performances, a grand gala performance, a closing gala of the stars performance, ballet master classes, and a past IBFM video screening.
