Miami Beach, FL (January 2026) — Open House Miami (OHMIA) announces that free tickets are now live for its third annual citywide festival, taking place February 27–March 1, 2026. Open House Miami, organized by The Miami Center for Architecture and Design (MCAD) in collaboration with the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA), the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Coral Gables, and AIA Miami, has confirmed a dynamic new slate of immersive experiences spanning architecture, art, culture, sustainability, and behind-the-scenes access to some of the city’s most iconic destinations. This year, the program expands further with the participation of leading cultural institutions, including Bakehouse Art Complex, the Rubell Museum, Superblue Miami, and Deering Estate, offering new opportunities to explore artist studios, contemporary collections, immersive installations, and historic environments. As part of the global Open House Worldwide network, Open House Miami continues its mission to make cities more open, accessible, and engaging—inviting the public to explore Miami from new perspectives through exclusive tours, panels, and experiences that are free and open to all with advance registration.

This year’s program features a dynamic mix of new and returning experiences highlighting Miami’s and Miami Beach’s rich past and vibrant future. The historic Freedom Tower joins Open House Miami with an intimate guided tour, offering participants a deeper look into one of the city’s most significant landmarks. In Opa-locka, a panel exploring Greater Miami’s history will spotlight neighborhoods celebrating their centennial, creating a dialogue between past, present, and future.
Attendees can also discover Coral Gables through a curated bike tour, engage in hands-on creative workshops such as a sip and paint of Miami’s skyline or the iconic Art Deco façade of the Surfcomber Miami Beach, or Join Raw Figs, inspired by Miami’s vibrant colors and energy, for a guided figure-drawing session along Lincoln Road. For a truly unique sensory experience, Unarthodox will host a sculpture without sight session, inviting participants to create through touch and intuition.
Newly-added experiences include standouts like a Panel Conversation at 1 Hotel South Beach: The Living Reef: Art, Science, Stewardship. Brandi Reddick and Ximena Caminos will lead a cross-disciplinary conversation exploring the intersection of art, science, and environmental stewardship in response to climate resilience and marine ecosystems. Designing with Water Panel at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), curated by Aaron DeMayo, Chair of the City of Miami Climate Resilience Committee, will feature Alan Shulman, FAIA (Buoyant City), Jeff Huber, FAIA (Salty Urbanism), and DeMayo (The Coastline) in a forward-looking conversation on design, ecology, and adaptation.
Returning and popular activities include a Behind-the-Scenes experience at the Miami Heat’s Kaseya Center and Big Bus Miami Tours options that will offer one free daily loop tour, including a special experience hosted by Caro the Tour Guide, sharing insider stories and cultural context across the city. Additional experiences available include Architecture Sarasota, the premiere of the first episode of Sarasota School: Living Legacy, a new documentary series exploring the movement’s enduring global impact. The inaugural screening features Max Strang, FAIA, and his firm's recent Van der Vlugt Residence, followed by a live conversation between Strang and Architecture Sarasota President Marty Hylton. For families, Jungle Island brings the fun with free daily admissions in an iconic tropical setting where nature, architecture, and culture meet and a limited number of tickets will be available for Thriller Miami speedboat tours, offering high-energy views of Miami’s islands and waterways.

The Miami Marathon and Half Marathon
The Miami Marathon and Half Marathon will take place Friday, January 23 – Sunday, January 25, 2026 and is a favorite “racecation” for runners from around the world. The event consists of 3 components including a Health and Fitness Expo at the Mana Wynwood, a Saturday Tropical 5k race (3.1 miles) which takes runners by the cruise port, the Art Deco District, and ends at Nikki Beach. All events lead up to the signature Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday. There are 385 hotel room nights contracted at Hotel Continental Miami Beach, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Residence Inn, The Gates Hotel South Beach, The Gale South Beach, The Cadillac Hotel, Circa 39, and Best Western Plus. In addition, 634,652,140 media impressions are contracted through various media partnerships. The event is expected to draw over 23,000 athletes, spectators, families and friends of which an estimated 60% (13,800) are estimated to be tourists. The Kids Run Miami Program (KRM) will also be continued this year, where 1,000 local children will be able to run the final mile of the race for free.

Miami Beach’s award-winning art-in-hospitality program No Vacancy, Miami Beach returns through December 20 showcasing twelve iconic hotels that have been paired with twelve, hand-picked artists for site-specific installations, with $35,000 in prizes awarded through juried selection and public vote. Guests can explore everything from textile-based visual displays to large-scale ceramics — all free and open to the public. From December 3–7, 2025, the INK Miami Art Fair returns for its 19th edition at the Suites of Dorchester (1850 Collins Avenue). The only Miami Art Week satellite fair dedicated exclusively to works on paper, INK features leading national and international publishers showcasing limited edition prints, masterworks, and new releases. Admission is free with registration. Design meets the tradition of whisky at the Wolfsonian through the Imaginarium: The Fantastical World of Compass Box and Stranger & Stranger, a first-of-its-kind exhibition celebrating 25 years of artistic storytelling in whisky packaging and brand design. On display December 3, 2025 through January 4, 2026, the interactive installation will feature original sketches, rare labels, and immersive displays. In addition to the exhibition, Compass Box has partnered with acclaimed auction house Bonhams to offer eight distinct auction lots from which proceeds will benefit the Wolfsonian-FIU. The auction, which will be accessible online through December 9, 2025, will feature rare, archived whisky editions.
Art takes shape in the form of light at the annual Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights. Returning for two weekends — December 13–15 and December 20–22, 2025— the Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights brings projection mapping, live orchestral performance, character appearances, snow effects, and even a drone show to Ocean Drive. Historic Art Deco façades become dynamic canvases as music and visuals animate the street each evening at 1440 Ocean Drive. It’s easy for travelers to transition from celebration to wellness during their Miami Beach stay with options like the AvMed Orange Bowl Beach Run. On Sunday, December 14, the AvMed Orange Bowl Beach Run invites families, runners, and fans to celebrate the season with a 5K or 10K run along South Pointe Park.
