Grant Categories, Guidelines and Application Forms

Please note that there will be a substantial decrease in the award funding for the upcoming fiscal year 2012/2013 due to a diminution in revenues collected by the City of Miami Beach.  The MBVCA’s funding priorities will focus on an event’s contracted hotel room nights in Miami Beach; substantial improvements to existing programs; and a program’s increase in the number of events being held in Miami Beach. The MBVCA’s funding priorities will be based on the following core initiatives:

Cultural Tourism; Customer Service; Design and Architecture; Entertainment and Nightlife; Festivals; Film and Fashion; Gay/Lesbian; Group Stimulus; Health and Wellness; Promotional Campaigns; Television Origination; Wine and Food.

 

The MBVCA has implemented a paperless application system through their Application Portal.  In order to obtain access to the Portal, all registered users must meet with and be approved by MBVCA administration. Application Uploading Instructions are available within the Cultural Tourism Grant Program and Tourism Advancement Program links below.

 

 

Cultural Tourism Grant Program

The objective of this program is to provide funding for activities, events with yearlong cultural tourism promotion and programming that supports and advances the missions of the MBVCA and Cultural Affairs Council (CAC)

2013/2014 Guidelines and Applications forms are now available

Please note: Only 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible to   apply under this grant program. 

  • Organizations that are currently applying for or have received a grant from the Miami Beach Cultural Affairs Program (CAP) are ineligible to apply to this grant program and all other MBVCA grant programs.

Applicants must meet two of the three criteria in place:

  • 200 contracted hotel room nights
  • 500,000 confirmed media impressions
  • 1,000,000 confirmed viewership

Film Incentive Grant Program

The Film Incentive Grant Program is designed to attract encourage film productions to film in Miami Beach by providing them with incentive dollars to utilize Miami Beach venues and generate hotel room nights in Miami Beach.

Tourism Advancement Program

The objective of this program is to provide funding for activities, events with yearlong tourism promotion and programming that supports and advances the mission of the MBVCA.

Grant categories include: Initiatives, Film Incentive, Major One Time Special Event, Special Events Recurring, Special Projects, Special Projects Recurring, and Tourism Partnerships

The 2012/2013 Tourism Advancement Program changes will include, but are not limited to, changes to the maximum request amounts for each category.  Below are the changes to each of the maximum requests for each of our grant categories.  Please note: All prospective applicants must meet with MBVCA Administration prior to submitting any paperwork.
